ssweeney's Review of Grindhouse Killer Burgers

Compact and tasty little burgers in an adult-friendly environment... although appropriate for all ages.

MAIN FARE (Burger):Grindhouse Burger

  • Burgers have quarter pound patties, so Jack and I split a double cheeseburger.
  • We order it with American cheese, mustard, onion, pickle, tomato and lettuce.
  • The burger looks smaller than expected, but the patties are dripping with juice/grease.  They are is cooked well, but are extremely flavorful... and did I mention juicy?  They use a proprietary blend of Chuck and Brisket.
  • The burgers are served on a lightly toasted potato bun... which looks to be smaller than a standard 4" bun.  It makes the burger look small - like a large slider (similar to Oma's in Waxahachie).
  • Red onions, leaf lettuce, fresh tomatoes, and pickles complete the ensemble.
  • The double-meat burger provides the proper ratio of bun, meat, and veggies.

MAIN FARE (Burger):Burgers and Brats Straight and Narrow Path with American Cheese

  • Burgers are half-pounders, and so Jack and I one burger.
  • We order the "Straight and Narrow Path" with American cheese, mustard, onion, pickle, tomato and lettuce.  The meat is cooked on a hot flat-top which makes for nice carmelized edges... good texture.
  • The patty is cooked well, but stays juicy and flavorful.
  • The bun looks to be a standard 4" white burger bun.
  • The veggies were nice and fresh.

Main Fare:

  • Burger: EXTREMELY GREASY... but it was delicious!  Two 1/4 patties looked small but it filled me up - even after splitting it with my Dad.
  • Cheese: It was American... and really super-gooey and GOOD.
  • Bun: Served on a toasted bun.  The top ended up getting really greasy because of the patties.
  • Toppings: They put the toppings under the patties, so the burger was sort of upside down.

ssweeney's Review of Square Burger

Weighted Overall
7.85

MAIN FARE (Burger):Close-up

  • Burgers are between 7 and 8 ounces each.  Jack and I decide to split one burger.
  • We order the Square burger with American cheese, mustard, onion, pickle, tomato and lettuce.  The meat is formed into a thick patty, but not pressed to flatten.
  • The beef is the focus of this burger, and is cooked just a tad under medium, unless you request otherwise.  They use locally-raised, grass-fed beef that is aged 14-20 days before being ground for Square Burger.  The beef is rich in flavor and is spiced just right.  It is tender, juicy, and nearly melts in your mouth... yum!
  • The bun is freshly-made from Empire Bakery, and is well-proportioned for the burger.
  • The veggies were very cool and crisp... another place where freshness makes a difference.
  • All condiments (mustard, pickles, ketchup, mustard, and mayo) are provided in indvidual-sized glass containers on the side.

  • We order the Square burger with American cheese, mustard, onion, pickle, tomato and lettuce.  The meat is formed into a thick patty, but not pressed to flatten.
  • The bun and veggies were too big for the patty.
  • The meat tasted really beefy and good.  It was tender and moist.
  • Mustard, pickles, ketchup, and mustard are all provided in indvidual containers on the side (not on your burger).
